In 1913 Charles Sydney Blackman immigrated to America from Australia settling in Los Angeles and then moving to the Imperial Valley in 1917 and opened a small plumbing business called Original Blackman Plumbing. In 1961 Lester Blackman, Charles' son took over the business with the help of his son Thomas Sidney Blackman until 1992. At that time the name was changed to Original Blackman Plumbing. In 1992 Thomas Sidney Blackman took the reins and changed the name to Original Sid Blackman Plumbing until 2022 when his longtime manager Mike Wickline took over the business and changed the name to Blackman Plumbing, Inc.
